Tony Kenny Biography
In the world of Irish Music, Tony Kenny needs little introduction. Tony Kenny, Ireland's 1998 "Entertainer of the Year," has thrilled audiences around the world with his exceptional talent. Tony began his career as the star of the internationally acclaimed stage musicals, "Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, where critics described his performances as both "powerful and compelling."
After receiving dozens of awards for his stage and television performances, Tony turned his beautiful voice and theatricial talent to the world of Irish music when he joined the cast of the world famous Jurys Irish Cabaret in Dublin, which recently won Ireland's National Entertainment Awards "Show of the Year" honors. As the star of Ireland's award winning Jurys Cabaret.
Tony has entertertained over two million people from around the world, including a 30-city tour of the United States in 2001. In July, 2001 Tony was honored at a special reception by Irish President Mary MacAlesse and was invited to perform on St. Patrick's Day, 1995 at the White House,Washington, D.C. for then President Bill Clinton.
Other career highlights include Tony's receipt of the Performing Artists Trust Society Annual Award for lifetime achievement in the performing arts and the special honor of singing the American national anthem at the 2001 Buffalo Bills/Miami Dolphins game. As a recording artists, Tony has achieved phenomenal success and his twelve recordings have been him on both sides of the Atlantic. His release of "The Very Best of Tony Kenny's Ireland" has achieved Platinum Disc status. Tony latest CD of brand new recordings "Sentimental Irish," is reciving widespread airplay on both Irish and mainstream radio stations in the United States.

Tony also performs on cruises and special events. This year Tony will be the one of the performers on a Carribean Cruise in September which is already sold out, and in November he will be the host of a trip to Branson Mo. and he will perform in Branson during the trip.
Tony resides in Dublin with his wife Joan, and their children, Christopher and Victoria.
